(backed home after backpacking 2.5 yr and started a new journey)

I’m from Hong Kong who started the journey since Dec 2021. Can’t live without mountain or ocean
always follow my heart and Do what I Love.
To explore the world and meet more amazing people, that’s the reason why I keep travelling.

Gumgug is my nickname which’s the same pronunciation of “柑桔” in Cantonese( means mandarine/tangerine 🍊) people always ask me this question so I explain at once here🤣 You can just call me Gum, easier to remember, right?😛

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Because of covid, I changed my plan and started solo travel and workaway instead of working holidays. Actually in the beginning I just want to escape from HK. After I started travel, I realised that there are too many things waiting me to explore. So I decided to continue my journey.

I’m an introvert and not always sociable. But during travelling, I think I talk much more than the sum up of my whole life. I met a lot of amazing people and I really enjoy chatting with local people and know more about different culture. I like experiencing the local life more than visiting the tourist spots. For example, the kids in Iceland bring me to run and cycle around in cold winter which you may not experience if you just travelling.
I am not good at planning because I think life always go in an unpredictable way. So my trip usually without a plan and decided everything in last minute. I think that’s what life should be, no plan and full of unexpectedness. From CS, you can always get some useful advice from the others.

After travelling 2 yrs and surfed many times, finally have a chance to return. Even it isn't my home town so I don't have much to share, also the sleeping arrangement is not the best, I still hope I can help other surfers who need a place to stay as like all the amazing hosts I met before. (*not available right now sorry*)

Sometimes I can be silent for the whole night meanwhile I can non-stop talking on different interesting topics. I love to listen travelling stories and opinions towards different topics.

I will always keep the place clean because I think this is my responsibility. Although personally I am not a very tidy person xd, I promise I will keep everything all right after using it. Don’t be shy to ask me help for household work, I’m happy to help.
