About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To contribute something positive to a fairer & more just world.
ABOUT ME
I was born in the 50's. My first memory is a picnic being watched by friesan cows under the umbrella of a beech tree. The 60's were influenced by music, beads, diets, Vietnam and boys. The 70's was another mix - the clothes were a disaster, college was good and getting married was a dream. The 80's brought 3 gorgeous babies in addition to my ready made daughter. I can't remember much besides work and family. The 90's brought a desire for greater freedom and some confidence to be myself. Divorce and sadness. The 00's have gone but it has been one extraordinary journey. I now have a Harley and after travelling 1000 miles across California last year I am planning some new adventures.
PHILOSOPHY
love life, challenges, justice.
be kind, positive, imaginative.
take time, listen, see.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My daughter introduced me to couch surfing and it seems the best way to help out - when people are travelling and exploring other cultures and communities. I have loved staying with other CS'ers. They are a unique group of people willing to open their doors to share; knowledge, thoughts, homes, food.
I have always gone to YHA hostels and enjoyed meeting other travellers.
Would like to offer space to allow others to find out about a place and the community.
Great to see the world through other people's eyes.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had a lovely guy from Argentina stay. How did he get to see my football team when I can't get a ticket for love nor money? Second couch surfer stayed and we won the booby prize at the local pub's quiz night - 4 tapas! All good.
Stayed with a brilliant host David in Los Angeles USA in October 2009 as I went to ride a Harley Davidson up the west coast to raise money for breast cancer charities.
Esme, my CS daughter, couldn't meet Neil who came to Chester for an afternoon and who wanted to walk the walls so I stepped in. We had a special couple of hours following in the footsteps of Charles 1st and later sat by the river having lunch at the Blue Moon Cafe and talked about the worlds we have lived in.
Since then quite a few couchsurfers; USA, German, Australian, Polish, Spanish, German and Slovenian.WOW.
