关于我
Hi! I’m Gui, born and raised in the Southeast of Brazil in a BIPOC low-income family. Life changed when I earned a scholarship at 15 to study at a great school, and since then, I’ve been passionate about creating opportunities for others. Over the past six years, I’ve worked on social projects related to quality education, poverty reduction and queer youth 🌈 . My academic work explores the critical history of capitalism, so I’m interested in macroeconomics, development theory, philosophy, and any topic that connects disciplines to better understand the world. One day, I dream of becoming a university professor and diplomat.
Art is a core part of my identity. I’ve been a ballet dancer and violinist, and lately, I’ve been trying to get back into dancing—especially voguing femme. While I haven’t found the time yet, I love exploring museums, vibing to Brazilian jazz and funk, or immersing myself in any form of creative expression.
I recently finished law school after studying between Brazil, France, and Mexico, which gave me the chance to see a big slice of Western society and meet amazing people—many of them through Couchsurfing!
Right now, I’m in DC working at a multilateral organization, and I’m eager to connect with locals who can show me the heart of the city and region. Let’s grab coffee, swap stories, or wander around together. If you host me, I’d love to share a piece of Brazilian culture, teach you the languages I speak, and have deep, meaningful conversations.
Looking forward to meeting you

I’m on a full scholarship back home, but it doesn’t cover the costs of my traveling. I’m staying in a few hostels during this period but it does add up, so I’d love to save some money through Couchsurfing .

音乐、电影和书籍
Really into classical music: was a ballet dancer and violinist for a couple of years. Apart from that, really into techno, Brazilian funk, jazz and pop
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
When I was 16 I spent one month in the south ofJapan (Kagoshima) doing a philosophy and arts summer course. I had a full scholarship to attend and created a crowdfunding campaign to pay for the flights. I also sold soaps my grandma made to help with daily costs.
I was all by myself, on a 24 hour flight journey, and then met people from all of the world in this course. It was quite transformative and showed me I could go anywhere I wanted in the world.
