About Guillaume ? I've never thought writing about him was easy, but eh, here it is.

Guillaume is a tall French guy, dangerously getting close to its 31th birthday who recently (like almost 4 years ago) decided to do what a lot of people think about doing : change his life. From a pretty settled work-flat-car-bills routine and often boredom to something more adventurous. He quit his job, his flat, left his friends and family to go on travels in late 2013, going first to Australia. He since lived in Perth, Hobart, Darwin, Auckland, and he's now back in France.

Eternally unsatisfied and always trying to reach what he thinks is perfection in everything he does or try, his life is now making more sense than it did before.

From new work experiences to the meaning of new relationships, Guillaume now sees the world in a different way than ever before. Everything is about people and their place in the world. What they do, why, how they think, feel, dream... He's probably a giant crazy dreamer himself but that's what helps him to be and stay happy.

I think I've said enough about him and I also don't want to tell too much because like I said above he likes relationships, especially creating new ones. And we both agree to say that's what Couchsurfing is all about !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Guillaume is on Couchsurfing because... there's a few reasons listed above already but the main one would be that he thinks nothing beats the locals when it comes to discover a new country. Generally speaking he's not into the "mainstream way of travel" anyway (hotels, resorts, all inclusive kind of things) so Couchsurfing ticks all the boxes.

The reason why Guillaume profile says he's not accepting guests is because he doesn't have a home at the moment, but he really hopes that the others couch surfers will share a little bit of their homes with him on his travels :)

Guillaume is also into photography. Far from being a pro but not a beginner anymore either.

He likes living in cities but also loves hiking, big walks in the wild from sunrise to sunset in a no man's land, stopping by at the local pub, having a nice but simple meal and share a glass of wine with his friends or hosts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music helps Guillaume to dream anytime because of his mood or the place he is at the moment he's listening to his music. For some reason music gets very inspirational for Guillaume because he always try to picture what kind of video he could make with the music he's listening as a background music.

He also really likes movies. Any kind of movie as long as the scenario is interesting, not standard, not too sci-fi.
He's not a huge fan of blockbusters and horror movies though. For example he could watch Drive once a day without getting bored of it and still give you a new reason why he likes it that much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Guillaume was in Australia for 14 months when he suddenly decided to fly back home. The thing is that he hadn't told anybody he was coming back to surprise everyone. It was such a long journey without having anyone to give him lifts (because nobody knew !) but eventually he managed to get home and by just knocking at his mum's of friend's door the reaction and the look on their faces (and the tears flowing...) he got from them was absolutely priceless.

Teach, Learn, Share

Guillaume is always eager to learn new things, like cooking or how to play guitar. But he's really bad at cooking that even with a good teacher he would probably still mess up his meals and end up eating chocolate. (Same for learning guitar). For these reasons he's more likely to share some of his travel stories with you.
