About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Bringing the best in every human being to light.
ABOUT ME
Well, my name is Guillaume, I used to live in Lyon, France and after traveling through New Caledonia, New Zealand and Japan, Australia (and living there), Cambodia, Bali and Thailand I now work as a freelance web developer from my home in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I traveled quite a bit and I love meeting new people and their culture. I would describe myself as a simple, open, energetic and engaging person. The values that are important to me : Freedom, Respect, Consciousness. I don't like how money corrupts human relationships, hence why i am all in for couchsurfing and giving back some of my time to others. I love the intensity of life and the way what you live shapes the person you embody everyday. I love my life, i am grateful for every moment of the present.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in Karma and that you have to be the change you want to see happen in the world. This is why to change the world, i have decided that i should change myself, and trying to be helpful and kind to the people surrounding me / who i meet. This is not always an easy thing, but this is the way i have chosen. I want to give back the best of who i am, and bring the best of whoever crosses my path.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first Couchsurfing experience was in Antwerpen, Belgium, at Ari's place. Ari is a wonderful person and we (my gf and I) had an awesome time touring around the city with Ari. I then thought, this is so awesome, i have to give it back myself. This is why I am here today, opening the doors of my flat to strangers.
Interests
I study psychology and cognitive therapies, i am a certified NLP Practician, and i am interested in Transactional Analysis, Hypnosis, and everything related to self improvement and becoming a coach / therapist.
I love martial arts and i have 2 years of French boxing experience, i am now a dedicated Aikido-ka. I love sports as a whole (especially when it involves being in Nature) and being active. I also try to do meditation everyday now after one of my Japanese host who became a friend taught me through the learning phase.
I am passionate about travelling, I hitchiked in France, New Zealand & Japan and i found it is the most amazing way to travel around, meeting locals, getting into unexpected situations, not knowing wether you will reach your destination or end up in your tent somewhere lost around a beautiful lake ? Being amazed at how many people are willing to take you for a drive to share a bit of their life with you. Hitchiking has been one of the most fulfilling experience ever, it always cheers me up and keeps my faith in Humanity through the roof.
Music, Movies, and Books
Pretty much anything, i love every kind of music that sounds good (heh). But i mostly listen to Electronica, minimal etc.. I love cinema (i watched at least a thousand movies), from recent stuff, to very old stuff. I love pulp fiction, 12 angry men, Korean movies, b&w movies, the blues brothers.... I read a lot of psychology/cognitive therapies stuff which might be boring for those who are not interested in this kind of stuff, but pretty enlightening if you are ready to confront yourself.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most wonderful thing i see in life is the present moment.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am very tech-savvy concerning computers and programming. I can share some of my knowledge about human psychology with you. Share movies, music, a meal, a smile, anything that can warm your soul.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Everything i can, and i am a good cook they say :p
