Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During summer 2008, I spent three months in Ireland with a good friend of mine, then we left the country to travel around Europe for 40 days. We did couchsurfing in almost all of the cities we visited and all our experiences we're great, so that's why I want to continue participating in the couchsurfing community. I also had many other amazing Couchsurfing encounters elsewhere in Europe and in Eastern Canada. Hosting as well has been a good way to meet wonderful people over the years!

Interests

Politics, philosophy, history (anything that can spark a good debate over a beer!), traveling (of course, or else why would I be writing here?), gardening, cinema, literature,RPGs and many other things which concern anything in general and everything in particular.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes are quite varied and include as much classic rock (Led Zeppelin,Supertramp, the Beatles, etc) as alternative rock (REM or Oasis) or weirder stuff such as some Bjork and traditional Kazakhstan music! Lots of Québec bands as well: Klô Pelgag, Les Cowboys fringants, Beau dommage, Tricot Machine...

A few books I loved: Orwell's 1984,Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars series and, as a former D&D player, the must-reads of fantasy such as Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit or Rowling's Harry Potter series.

As for movies, my childhood passion was Star Wars (the original ones, of course!) and I still haven't forgotten the best lines. I also really like the works of Denys Arcand, a famous Québec director: Jésus de Montréal, le déclin de l'empire américain, les invasions barbares...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As I sat on a bench to eat the fish sandwich I had just bought somewhere in Den Haag, a seagull flew over me and stole my meal!

I hitch-hiked with both French and German police officers, but the german ones were much nicer.

Countries I’ve Visited
