About Me

I´m Gui. Nice to meet you. A 30y/o brazilian dude, born and raised in Florianópolis, a tropical island full of beaches, breathtaking landscapes and great people to meet. I luckily discover Couchsurfing in 2009 and it´s has been a big part of my life and my culture since then. Many of the greatest friendships I have made during these years were possible thanks to this site. So, thanks CS!

Nowadays I'm living in São Paulo, Brazil, but I'm about to take a trip to Stockholm, Sweden, and I intend to couchsurf around Europe while I'm there. I'll be studying at Stockholm School of Dramatic Arts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have the time of my life hosting people in my place and feel very welcomed when I couchsurf during my trips.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2009 I decided to move abroad and New York City was the destination. After getting some tips on the internet, I ended up spending my first nights couchsurfing in Nicky Pallas’s apartament. Nicky is one of the New York Couchsurfing Embassors so his house is crowded with people from all around the world everyday. We got along really well so I moved in with him. So I got to experience both CS roles in the same house: the couchsurfer and the host. It was an incredible year because I got to known hundreds of interesting people without having to leave my living room. But also an amazing oportunity to live and understand the couchsurfing culture at it´s maximum.

Interests

To meet the people, have new friends.
To visit new places, to crash in other peoples couch.
To taste new dishes, to try differente drinks.
To have healthy discussions and meaningful conversation.
To learn and share everything I’m curious and passionate about.
To face the world and see myself in it.

Music, movies, food, stories, friendship, yoga, design, communication, meditation, love, peace and freedom.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list. But it doesn’t really matter the genre.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you’re from abroad, I would love to teach you some basics from portuguese and local geography so you can to the nearest beach without getting lost while you make some friends in the way. I can show you brazilian music and rhythms and if you’re lucky I can teach how to play samba with the Pandeiro (tambourine). As an yoga student, I can also teach you some movements and positions so you’ll fell more disposed during your trip.

I’m really open to learn pretty much anything from everyone, but some language classes would fit me well. I´m looking to learn some italian, german, french, japanese, spanish, etc.
