About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Don't waste a minute on this Journey

ABOUT ME

One of my favorite things to do is to meet new people. I am constantly striving to build new relationships and learn how different people tick. That is why I love community so much. One of my favorite things to do is have dinner with someone and sit and talk for hours. There is no end to how much you can learn from knowing and understanding people. My life would not be the same if it were not for the friends and relationships I have built along the way. I also have an outgoing personality and am incredibly spontaneous. I believe life is a journey and it is our job to make the most of it no matter where we are. I am always up for going out and doing almost anything, and I definitely have the "try anything once" mentality.

PHILOSOPHY

Community is the gateway to knowledge and truth. Why waster a moment of this short life we are given? I will always strive to spend my time seeking my goals and getting to know as many people as possible. We never stop being students and need to learn as much as possible in every situation we are given.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I am travelling abroad for a few months, so I do not have a couch to offer. Although, I have been meeting many wonderful people through CS and am excited for them to come back to the States and stay on my couch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My travels have led me far and wide to many interesting places. I would have been completely lost if it were not for my Couch Surfing friends. Every host I have met has been kind and welcoming. I have been shown around countless cities and fallen in love with many sites and people. Being a Couch Surfer has truly made my European experience worth while and I am excited to continue meeting new people over the next few months!

Interests

I am a definite outdoors person. I am get recharged from being outside in nature. When there is good weather outside I will normally be mountain biking, rock climbing, or white water kayaking. I especially love taking long weekends and backpacking through the back country. But I have an interesting personality for I am also a bit of a scholar. I love to read and engage in the pursuit of truth, and you will often find me in libraries trying to learn about something new or just reading a new novel. I also love exploring new places. Whenever I travel to a new city, I normally spend the first one or two days walking around everywhere that I can. I am not particularly keen on touristy attractions, but love digging into the core community of a city. I believe the only way to really do that is explore the city and find people to talk to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most perfect days I have ever had was in Ecuador. I was in the Amazon jungle spending a day with the Waodani tribe. They were very interesting people who showed me around the jungle and their small village. I was able to play a round of football with the children their and even eat a roasted guinea pig. I was then taken out on a long boat to the middle of the Amazon river where I was able to swim around in the strong current. After I got out, one of the tribesmen told me that a week ago, about 2 meters away from where I was swimming, a girl was killed by an Anaconda. I quickly flung myself back into the boat where it was a bit safer. That same day, I travelled to an Ecuadorian Monkey Zoo. Here, the owners bought around 5 miles of jungle and placed 50 monkeys inside to live and jump around as they pleased. Monkeys being my favorite animals, I quickly ran into the jungle where I was met with 5 monkeys all jumping on top of me and swinging from my arms. It was one of my most joyous experiences. I will remember that day for the rest of my life because i learned so much about the Ecuadorean culture and had an incredible time with those people.
