ABOUT ME

Music has been my main passion in life. I've been playing guitar for over 30 years, and writing songs for as long. I'm was in a band called The Roving Eyes that played mostly my songs. We have a Bandcamp page and are on Spotify and Youtube.
I've mostly worked different driving jobs for the last 25 years. I've also worked in catering, and bartended a little. Before that I was a canvasser for Greenpeace. From 2010 to 2013, I worked as a caricaturist part time. I lived in Boston for two years, in my early twenties, and have also lived in LA a couple times,
I'm from Portland, Oregon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So I can meet some cool locals on my travels. I've been going to Mexico in January for the last four years.
I've been to Puerto Villarta twice, Cabos and San Jose once, and this year I'm going to Mazatlan.

None yet, except a few times surfing on friend's couches.

Interests

I love to get outdoors and discover new places to hike. I also like playing guitar, listening to music, seeing bands, going to comedy open mics, reading, watching Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher, Jimmy Kimmel, Trevor Noah, and Seth Meyers. SNL's cold opens can be good sometimes, and the Weekend Update.
I want to find out about the interesting places that the locals go.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've managed to learn how to play almost every song that I've wanted to learn. That can feel amazing, when you're doing it. I've also written some pretty good songs.
