About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'd love to live in Afghanistan for couple of years in the future. Love languages and would like to learn a few more before I get too old to remember to put the toilet seat down before flushing.

ABOUT ME

I am from a country that lost its constitution (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/kyrgyzstan-constitution-lost-cannot-find-central-asia-a7373171.html), studying for my PhD in Anthropology and simply enjoying life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By foraging in your fridge, spreading bed bug infestations, holding beloved pets for ransom, stealing personal indentities, and stranding CSers after promising them a place to stay. I kid, I do not do any of these :)

Interests

I enjoy running, hiking, meeting kind and nice people, sometimes staying in bed and do nothing except for blinking and breathing, and talking with friends on random topics which make no sense sometimes. Also, I am really into tea. If you are my guest, you will for sure have cups of delicious hot tea (provided I have some left :D)

Music, Movies, and Books

Guilty of having a bad taste in music, and slightly jealous of people, who can sing well and play musical instruments. However, I appreciate when people share their favourite songs and music.

Despite having not-so-great taste in music, I have good taste in books and movies. "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" and "The God of Small Things" are my favourite books. Also while reading "A thousand splendid suns" by Khaled Hosseini I cried like a baby.

Also, I recommend to everyone to check out Chingiz Aitmatov's books. He is a famous Kyrgyz author and his works are of must-read!!! <3

Regarding, movies I enjoy watching The Kite Runner, Forrest Gump, Dead Poets Society, Atonement, Inherit the Wind, About Time, and THE Deep Blue Sea (please, pay attention to THE, the movie is not about sharks), and Inception.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saved 3 kittens from a burning tree despite being deathly allergic to cats. Aside from that utter lie, I've led a completely normal life. But I did once live in complete wilderness for 2 weeks on the border between Kyrgyzstan and China. There wasn't any water, vegetations, or electricity. All in the name of science and research.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to speak any language in 30 minutes or less! ;) :P Even though I put ketchup and mayo in pasta and think that's pretty delicious I still can cook some food representative of Kyrgyz cuisine (Central Asian). If I am in a really good mood and time permits, I might even cook for you.

If you are coming from the Caucasus or Central Asia, the chances that you know what raihan is are high. But did you know that raihan was actually basil?
