About Me

I'm currently working in Kraków, open to meeting up for a coffee or beer with fellow travellers. I can show you my favourite bits of the city or we can go exploring together. (Yes, I've lived here for more than 3 years, but there're still places to discover.)

Born and raised in Latvia, moved to Scotland for studies (Comparative Literature + other silly humanities courses), did a year abroad in Russia and now I've landed in Poland. Why? I can't remember and it doesn't matter, I just hope the list keeps on growing (that's my slow way of travelling, haha).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A fun way of sharing homes and cultures. Definitely the best way to discover a place is seeing it from a local's perspective, that's where couchsurfing comes in handy.
Unfortunately, I can't host in my current flat, but I take part in the regular meetings here in Krakow, where I've met quite a few great friends. It's simply an amazing initiative to connect with people you might miss out on otherwise.
Hosting or surfing, either way it's the best way to travel!

Interests

I'm quite a culture and language geek (also my line of work, yay!). I enjoy learning about people and places. Plus, of course, films, music and literature.
I'm also sort of married to my bicycle. Always up for a ride around the town.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went swimming in the Baltic Sea on Easter.

Crossed half of Moscow in -15C blizzard only to find myself in a slightly underwhelming club, but, hey, dedication!

Moved to Scotland

Learned Polish

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make a decent shakshouka and pad thai or kimchi. The last one takes a bit more time though.
Maybe you want to practice your English or Latvian (anyone?)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking and most of the time it turns out great!
