Currently, I'm a university student both in the field of Visual Communication Design & Cinema. I have a deep passion for both film making and watching, so wouldn't get bored of talking about it or watching at all! As a design student, I appreciate many forms of art in different kinds of mediums. Also have a good amount of interest in 20th century history (especially WWII). Plus, I have a incurable affection for Pink Floyd as well. I have to say that I’m a person who is very passionate about things. When I can say I’m into something, I will study/experience/enjoy/talk the hell out of it.

Last year, I have done the Erasmus exchange program in Germany for one full year. I have to say, one of the best things I did in my life. So many things experienced/seen and many different and cool people met.

My understanding of quality time is mostly made up of having engaging conversations, going to different places (like a sight in city, art exhibition, museum etc.), watching a film and discussing about it afterwards.

Right now, I'm staying in my university's dormitory so I unfortunately can't be a host until I move out to a house of my own. But I can offer my friendship and the fact that I'm a local here, so we could do stuff together. So please feel free to hit me up!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be honest, I haven't travelled to different countries since my childhood. That was until I went to Germany for an exchange year abroad in 2018-2019. In my last months there, I tried to travel as much as I could. So I used Couchsurfing for meeting other surfers & local people. Getting the taste of this experience, I want to continue doing this even if I'm back home now. I love to explore new people in a new setting, there is a certain adventure feeling in that, which I greatly enjoy :) Plus, meeting all these new people actually makes you realize a lot of things about yourself too, like a mirror shown to you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Progressive/Psychedelic Rock (especially everything Pink Floyd has put out), Swing, Electronic etc. But I'm not a genre specific person, I have a broad range of music that I like. I'm very eager to find new ground in terms of music!

Movies: I love movies of Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino and many more.

Books: Ones written by Dan Brown have been my personal favorites for a long time. Currently reading "Zorba the Greek" by Nikos Kazantzakis.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Manage to accomplish doing something about cinema (since I have a passion for it since my teenage years) by starting to study and making my first ‘serious’ film

Teach: Photography, cinematography, English/Turkish, history

Learn: Playing an instrument (never had the chance to learn yet sadly), drawing, cooking, experiences of other people in different parts of the world

What I Can Share with Hosts

My humble attempt to have a good time, conversation and experience. Although I'm kind of new to cooking, perhaps I could cook you the Turkish dish "dolma" or some other Turkish dishes? I can also share my knowledge/interest on photography, cinema, history, language, design, art etc.
