CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
We are a chinese couple, 24/5 years old. Guo just finished his master degree and joined a law firm in U.S. Qian just quit a multinational company and started approaching her grad study. We both love exploring and adventuring around the globe.
GUO: I spent my first 18 years in Shanghai - a classic textbook example of urban sprawl and a place many people refer to as "one of the biggest cities in the world". Unfortunately and fortunately I spend the next four years as a college student in another one of the biggest, Beijing, where I was asked at least 1000 times which one of the two "biggest cities" I prefer.
While I still can not perfectly answer this question, I came to the US for grad school. This time, I'm stuck in the friendly, laid-back midwest. It's always interesting in everyday life that how different the two countries and cultures seem to me. It's also fun to explore it.
What never changes is the curiosity in me that always urges me to see, to feel and to experience the world by "being on the road".
QIAN: born and grew up in southern China, went fairly north to Beijing for college, and then worked for a multinational giant and lived in Shanghai for 2 years since graduated. Now I'm moving to US and being together with Guo.
PHILOSOPHY
Be interesting, be interested.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
GUO: It's not literally a "CS" experience but similar. In fall 2008, I won the Lonely Planet Travel Plan Contest (held in China) and as the result got sponsored for a free trip (they call it travel scholarship). I picked up Malaysia and registered in several CS-type websites. I was hosted in Kuala Lumpur by a ethnic Chinese girl through another website. It was definitely a fantastic experience.
After I came back to my collge, I was asked to share my experience in this trip with 300+ students in a large lecture hall. It was fantastic again that I later knew some of them were encouraged to make their first move to travel abroad!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We traveled to Mexico on Aug 20 - Sep 3, 2011, CSed in 4 local hosts. It was really a cool experience!

Listen to all kinds of music. Classic, pop, rock n roll, hip-hop and rap.
For movies, I'm a big fan of Forrest Gump.(and there're many more out there to keep it listed high in IMDB top 200!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
GUO: I traveled alone in the jungle of Taman Negara for 4 days and came across a aboriginal jungle man with a sharp shooting bow!! finally was able to calm myself and him down and make him to show me the way to get out of the jungle!! and teach him how to chow a gum as a curtesy gift!!
QIAN: adventured alone in Tibet for 50 days upon my university graduation.
