About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling from Moscow, taking the Trans-mongolian train towards the east. Finishing with Labyrinth festival in Japan!

ABOUT ME

Describing oneself for others is hard, when oneself is trying to describe one for oneself...! But I'll give it a go.

I'm Gustaf. Feeling both quite young, and sometimes relatively old. At home I'm a student, studying behavioural science, with sociology as main study. I'm also a part-time worker at a home for youngsters coming alone to Sweden from Afghanistan & Somalia. But enough with the "hard facts".

I'd describe myself as quite a sociable guy - when there's a situation for it. Being quite calm - but occasionally very energetic, I feel like a typical youngster in the 21st century. I want to experience, by myself - not letting any prejudices take over my perception. I want to live, free & fun - hence there's nothing else to be done with this simple life. I want to learn, and spread knowledge - exchange ideas of different minds and cultures. Yes, there's simply a lot of things I want to do. Making this world a better place for the people on the lowest stage on the social hierarchy is one. Creating the funniest parties in the southern part of Sweden is another. The list is long, and the life is short..

This summer me, and my heavy bearded friend of mine will take on an adventure we've been wanting to experience for a long time. Traveling from Moscow, throu Mongolia by train, arriving to Beijing, and then ending up in Japan. The final destination is the Labyrinth festival in north west of Japan.

And yes. Here's a sidenote, for any techno-heads out there. We do love techno & house. Berlin is our second home. And a big reason for doing this trip is the Labyrinth festival.

My friend is a teacher student, also from the southern part of Sweden. He's probably a little bit more calm than me. A very good partner to discuss with. But also funny, in a kind of crazy way.

I think that's about it... Suppose more questions could be asked, and more could be answered. But I'll leave that to the folks of you meeting us in real life!

PHILOSOPHY

Love & caring

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Why CS? Because I believe in people working together, making the world a better place to live at by sharing different ideas and merging us all to one big unit. That's what CS is to me, and what I try to create out of CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosting people in an old collective I used to live in, in Lund. Was a great experience doing that. Also met one of my best friends, an immigrated German who decided to stay in Sweden - much because of the people he meet throu CS I think!

I've also been couchsurfing in USA. Had some great experiences over there.

Interests

Life in general. In specific,

House & techno (but I think the two of us can cover some more genres, heh...)
Philosophy, discussing the big questions of life
Sociology, why does the world look like it does.
Dancing. This really is my thing. Makes my self complete like nothing else.
Partying.
Relaxing... ofc!
Traveling, let's you meet people from different cultures & backgrounds.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: techno/tech-house/house, most kind of music from the 60-70s; Dylan, Neil Young, Jefferson Airplane, CCR, hiphop from early 90s... and a loot of other kind of music.

Authors: Hjalmar Söderberg, Bulgakov, Steinbeck, and so on...!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To hard to single out right now..

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very much a theoretical guy I think. When I meet people who's intrested in discussing, without finding any "answer" - I think I do learn a lot by letting them share their experiences with me.

And ofc, when I do meet a person with a specific practical skill, in which (very important) I am intreseted in learning more about. Wow. Then we have something coming up!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Germany, United States
