About Me

Hey,
I'm Gustavo from Mexico, now living in Oldenburg for my master studies in Neurocognitive Pyschology. First time in North Germany, I enjoy traveling (of course!) meeting new people and having good conversation with a hot coffee or a cold beer! (Black in both cases).

I love running and reading good books, and why not? going out for party ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Last year, I travelled alone to France, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany for one month, so a german friend of mine recommended me to couchsurf as a good way to meet people from all around the world, and learn about their culture and the way the live.

Due to the lack of time, I have not couchsurfed a lot since I joined to the community (only twice), however I always suggest people to try it (either being a host or traveler). You learn a lot!.

I think this is good way to have a good multicutural experience. I think this goes beyond staying for free in a place but open your mind.

Interests

I'm a big fan of sports. Football (soccer), Baseball, tenis and basketball are my favorites. I do enjoy a good beer (stouts are my favorites) , wine and cheese.

One of my passions is running. In fact, I recently began trying trail running, it has been hard but amazing because I have known beautiful places (allows me to travel) and great people as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kind of musc; anyway, I usually listen to electro and house but I also enjoy a good rock or why not pop music or good oldies.

Not very good at watching movies but I like good stories , usually based on real facts, for example, I really enjoyed Everest or Wild.

One of my favorite activities is reading, my favorite book is The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. Another good book I liked is Tomorrow in the Battle think on me (Javier Marias).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably, I'd say that running a marathon was one of the toughest experiences I've lived. Without the proper training, my shoes was not made for running and during the marathon one of my shoe soles was damage so my sole started to bleed...and I was not even completed 30km!

But my heart was greater than pain and I completed the full marathon!. Of course I need like 20 days to walk again, just kidding, but I took me a while to run again. Now, I train my self, and once a year I run a Marathon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach spanish and I'm open to learn many other habilities. For example, probably running advices or some techniques to relax before the axiety.

I do also play piano, so If you are interested I could teach some basics.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I open to help with some house tasks (help with the dishes, for example), I know what implies to host someone in terms of time and setting everything for the people .

Also, I could assist in the kitchen (sorry I am not the best cooker). Also maybe, buy some food or drinks ;)
