About Me

I'm transitioning into a more open-minded and explorer individual.

Spent all my life being a conservative and I believe being more open and sincere with myself and others is exactly the kind of change I need to be a happier person :)

I found in sharing and caring a more humane part of myself that I liked and want to keep going in that direction.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to live new experiences, to meet new and interesting people to share experiences and thoughts.
I've started looking for a new lifestyle that would match more my personality, and find the CouchSurfing community very refreshing!
Why not give it a shot? life's too short not to!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Rock and Classic Rock (Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Iron Maiden - and it goes ON) But I'm very eclectic person, listen to almost everything really.

Movies: Another list of the long-ass variety - But would say: Perfume The Story of a Murderer, V for Vendetta, Fight Club, The Girl With a Pearl Earring, The Constant Gardener, Her, Requiem for a Dream (And goes on quite..)

Books: I'm not really a book kind of guy, but my favourite books so far are: Perfume The Story of a Murderer (yep, love that thing), The Little Prince and Lord of the Rings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a trip to Cuba, I was invited to attend my girlfriend's friend religious cerimony.
It's a party to renew his saintly vows of the Yoruba/Candomblé religion.
I had no clue over what to expect considering I was never a religious person nor had much contact with their culture before.
Arriving in a tiny apartment at Old Habana I encountered some musicians already playing drums and tamborins at his small living room which was already filled with people, he was ready receive the saint and dressed up in a feathered costume to honor his saint Iemanjá (goddess of the sea).
Quite quickly everything heated up, the drums got louder people started singing and the feathered guy started dancing frenetically, swirlling and singing and "laughing" in a rather evil manner, suposedly that's the proper way to do the ritual.
Now there I was, a conservative and shy guy in the middle of a heated up party of something absolutely alien to me and really trying to hold myself to don't laugh all the way through as to how odd it was to me.
After - at least - 20 minutes ( kind of lost track of the time) people finally settled down and an abundancy of candies were distributed to everyone.
All in all, it was one of the best experiences I ever had!
In the most unexpected ways, you notice how much you love the strange and new.
