Hello everyone!
We are Gus and Lidia. We currently live in Verona, Italy, where I am doing an internship at the University to complete my postgraduate studies in Spanish Teaching!!

During the Covid period, after several difficulties experienced, we decided to leave our country (Ecuador), to follow old academic dreams that had been postponed. And today it has been four years between Spain and Italy, making new friends while traveling on our days off.

We enjoy the simple things: sunsets, watching a movie, walking around the city, a good conversation, food, coffees and things like that. We are very simple people, so we fit in wherever we are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have been using Trusted HouseSitter for a couple of years, a platform that has allowed us to travel and make new friends, while taking care of their houses and pets. So we are looking for CS to also allow us to have the opportunity to travel and meet nice, local people, and help each other.
These types of apps have allowed us to meet amazing people over the past few years, who have now become our close friends.

Interests
We like sporting events, nature, walking, good music. We love sunsets and good conversations. And above all, learning from the cultural diversity of others.
We are native Spanish speakers, and we are trying to improve our Italian, which is gladly very decent now. Our English is very basic, but we keep learning. It hasn't been easy but we like it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surviving for so many years the dangers and insecurity in our country. ahahahah
Sports and adventures.
Sleeping in airports, beaches.
And above all, working as a volunteer for more than 15 years in youth groups in my city, to help young people with problems at home.

Teach, Learn, Share

We love to discover new places and make friends in every city we visit. Chatting is our gift. So if you like, we can teach you Spanish. And also recommend you many songs that can help you with your memorization and pronunciation. So also, we can teach you how to dance merengue! ahahahah

We are looking to improve our Italian, a language that we love and are currently learning, since our idea is to live many years here.
Also English (because it is very useful for us to travel around the world).
