Overview
About Me
Hello,
I am Gustavo, originally from São Paulo, Brazil and currently living in Scotland since 2015. I consider myself pretty much adventurous since I left everything behind to live in another country very different from what I used to live. Definitely I opened my eyes widely and mind wisely to change my habits, to dive further on new experiences and getting through different situations with different people from all over the world.
I studied Media and Communication in my hometown and before that I used to dance (almost) professionally Irish Tap Dancing and Modern Dance, which both equally gave me a lot of inspiration and opportunity to work with interesting and artsy people abroad. I am very much into art and some thought-provoking discussion to be talked over a glass of wine or two.
My background is very worldly, I would say. My father is originally from Cádiz, España and my mother is brazilian with russian, italian and french background. My entire name can be somewhat mouthful, and I can tell definitely my childhood has been utter unusual by amounts of languages I used to have hear with all my grand and great-parents altogether.
My biggest fascination is Scandinavia which I urge to discover yet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I see Couchsurfing one of these experiences you have to face through whenever you can and let this opportunity guide you to memories to be collected. I want to explore other cities and countries more, and therefore know people better by the way they live and go beyond to unknown.

Music, Movies, and Books
Musicwise I surf on postrock, classical music and sometimes metal. Living in Glasgow has brought me a major need to go to many gigs and festivals, and recently I fell in love with the band London Grammar. My lastfm (user: cosmobrain) has shown me I am very flexible towards music and by that I mean from Amy Winehouse, Sigur Rós, Portishead, Arch Enemy to Placebo and the random list goes on.
Filmwise, let's say my profile on Netflix and Mubi has led me to bingewatch Suits and Sherlock. I tend to watch european films most and I have heartened quite a few such as: Kes (1970, Kes Loach), King of Devil's Island (2010, Marius Holst), Les Chansons d'Amour (2007, Christophe Honoré), Devil's Bride (2016, Saara Cantell) and many others. I could also mention a few from Ingmar Bergman and Jean-Luc Godard, but I love most of those things they have done I wouldn't even shorten my list.
