Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to understand the world around me, and where I fit in all of that...
ABOUT ME
I've never been good at describing myself. I love meeting new people, hearing different views, seeing the world through someone else's eyes (and then deciding my view's best :P JK )
PHILOSOPHY
Contemplating objectivism, life, love, the universe and where I belong in it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfed couches across the US, hosted two exquisite fellas in the summer of 2007 (not in the same time :P ), and another exquisite lady in the summer of 2009. (What happened in 2008? I was living in a university dorm...)Keeping this section updated is really high maintenance :)Ok, since 2009, I surfed some more couches, I 'recruited' a few people to CouchSurfing, hosted 3 people and worked really hard on my Masters (which, I can say, was finally submitted recently (01/2010) ).
There have been so many changes in life recently... So I've been out of it for quite a bit. Mostly hosting friends these days... Sorry.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was trying to explain to someone why, although intuition seems to point otherwise, CouchSurfing is actually a good idea.
I think it boiled down to this community somehow pulling in trusting and trustworthy people. Which isn't to say you should trust someone just because he's a CSer, but you get my drift :)
Interests
If I'd list everything I'm interested in, this would be a painfully long list...
Music, Movies, and Books
Yes, indeed :)
Books: Mostly sci-fi and various fiction and fantasy.
Music: 80s pop, classic rock, female vocalists, jazz...
Movies: I'm willing to watch anything that has more than 6.5 in IMDB, but I can't promise I'll like it :P
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Served the IDF, just like every other Israeli.
Seen a bunch of stuff, done all sorts of things. Just ask me :)
Teach, Learn, Share
The only good lesson I can give you (and I didn't find it in the manuals) is this:
Correspond with people before you even send them a couch request (or host them) - let them know who you are, get to know who they are. Some people are creeps, and we would really like to avoid them. Essentially, the more you talk to someone, the safer you are (meaning, if after all the corresponding you still think it's a good idea to host them/surf their couch).
