Hello everybody, I'm Guus, a construction engineer from the Netherlands.

Some things I love:
- architecture (also planning to study it)
- Culture (art, film, history and such)
- Surfing (primarily kitesurfing, but trying to learn wavesurfing)

So in general I guess i'm a pretty basic traveller.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Firstly because it's the best way to get a feel for a place or city. Too many people are treating the places they visit as open air museums to take pictures of to then turn back home, for me that's not quality travel.

Also my desire to travel most of the time exceeds my means, so any way to make travelling easier and more affordable will be welcomed with an open heart.

So in short, I'm on couchsurfing because it makes travelling easier, cheaper and better for me and for the couchsurfing community.
