About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To host as many people as possible at my flat in Uxbridge

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Guy. I like CouchSurfing a lot because I'm really into travelling, and when I'm abroad I always meet local people as much as I can, try the food and drink and sometimes learn some of the language.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a laid-back and friendly person, and I tend to believe that a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host people regularly, and I also use CouchSurfing a lot when I'm travelling

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a lot of interesting people from all over the world at my flat before, and I've also been hosted by some really cool people in Vienna, Leipzig and Hamburg.

Interests

I like playing music a lot and I play the guitar and drums. I've been playing guitar in a band for quite a few years with some of my friends. If you want to you can listen to our latest album at http://www.rhyn.eu.

I also really like learning foreign languages and can speak a few with varying degrees of fluency.

Music, Movies, and Books

In terms of music, I mostly like rock of various types. Some of my favourite bands are: Biffy Clyro, Bloc Party, Incubus, Muse, System of a Down, Kings of Leon, Rage Against the Machine, Feeder, Funeral for a Friend, Jimmy Eat World and Nirvana.

I generally like most types of films, and some of my favourite ones are: The Green Mile, 28 Days Later, Forrest Gump, Gladiator, Aliens, Minority Report and Dead Poets Society.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year living in Poland, which I really enjoyed, and I managed to learn the language to a really high level in that time. I've also hosted Polish peop/e on CouchSurfing before and found it really useful.

When I was at university, I also spent a semester studying in Toulouse in French, which was a really rewarding experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could probably teach you a bit of guitar or drums if you want, or I could maybe help you with English if that's something you're looking for (maybe you want to learn some specifically British words people often don't learn in other countries), or I could maybe teach you some Esperanto, French or Polish. I also once taught myself to juggle, and I've been known to teach others, with varying results.

If you have any interesting or unusual skills you'd like to teach me, I'd be happy to learn. Cooking new dishes is something I've been trying to do recently.
