I'm a traveler... I have lived in seven states, a dozen towns, and have moved over thirty times. I've spent time in thirty-two states and a few countries. I love meeting new people and find friends wherever I go. I live in Kansas City, where I was born, but the winds of change have been blowing all year...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is a brilliant way to bring fellow travelers together. I have met some great people across the country through this site. My aunt and uncle have also opened their home for surfing and have nothing but great things to say about their experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, Movies, and Books are a few of my favorite things.

My musical taste is varied and well-rounded. I enjoy blues, jazz, folk, rock, metal, hip-hop, and many other genres. I have followed the Kansas City local scene for ten years and find it vibrant, inspiring, and filled with quality. Favorite bands include Iron & Wine, Neko Case, Bob Dylan, Neurosis, Modest Mouse, Wu-Tang Clan, John Coltrane, Thelonius Monk, and many others.

I love movies old and new. I enjoy everything by Wes Anderson. Christopher Nolan is a great director. Charlie Kaufman writes beautiful scripts. Some favorites from childhood include The Goonies, The Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth. Some modern favorites include Donnie Darko, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, and The Royal Tenenbaums. I have seen Casablanca way too many times and will watch anything with Audrey Hepburn in it.

I am an avid reader. For modern fiction, I enjoy Haruki Murakami and David Mitchell. I read a lot of books about horticulture and agriculture. I also enjoy classics, books on philosophy, and I still read actual newspapers!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summer of 2015, I drove from Kansas City to the Pacific Ocean and back. It was a great trip - I visited five national parks in three states, spent time with friends old and new, re-connected with family across the country, and made it home in one piece!

What I Can Share with Hosts
