Chi sono
Ohai, I'm Wendy!
I'm currently dreaming of building a Tiny House within 2019 and am gathering resources and information on that.
I'm 26 years old, and work for an indie dev team.
Lots of my times are spent in front of computers, and I am enjoying that life.
Currently I live in an overpriced bedsit in London.
Due to my ties to the city, I'm looking for a piece of land with hookups to potentially park a tiny house (/ caravan) to rent, or buy.
Ideally I would love to find a community of other Tiny Houses, Caravans, or Vans, to stay with on a shared communal plot of land. I have a lot to learn when it comes to composting, and caring about land, and I can't wait to start learning.
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
At first I wanted to hitchhike through England to find a place to call my home.
I met a lot of amazing people, and settled on Bristol.
Due to my partner's work, I now live in London, but I'm not very happy here.
Now we're dreaming and planning to build a tiny house, and are trying to find communities, and resources to figure out where to put one, once we have it.
Any contacts, any advice, any connection I could make about Tiny House / Caravan living would be appreciated!

Right now I'm researching a lot about Tiny House / Caravan living:
- Composting toilets
- How to deal with grey water
- The pros and cons of a septic tank
- Solar panels: renting vs buying
- Additional propane vs all electrical hookups
- Ideal heating for a tiny house in the south of England
- How to design good airflow to avoid mould
- Combining my need for a computer / work with Tiny House living
- How to find places to stay with trains under 2h away from London
etc.
More personally:
I'm a huge Star Trek nerd, but I wouldn't say I'm a sci-fi nerd, because I also adore Dragon Age.
I built my own PC, and very few years I think it's a great idea to (help) build another one, until I remember the pain and suffering it caused me. I'd still consider that a hobby though.
Working in the videogame industry has put a damper on my ability to play them in my free time. With the new Steam Link app it's been getting a little better, because I can play visual novels, and smaller games from bed.
As someone who grew up bilingually I love languages, and some of my favourite conversations with my partner are about linguistics, origins, and how they've impacted cultural thinking.

Musica, film e libri
Music:
I quite like a wide range of calm music: Chopin, Empyrium, Summoning, Elliott Smith
And then there is my trashy (goth) pop: The Cure, Dresden Dolls, Pet Shop Boys, Siouxsie and the Banshees
TV: While I have never owned one, I do enjoy streaming services:
Some of my favourite shows: Parks & Recreation, The unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Brooklyn 99, Star Trek: Next Gen, DS9, Voyager, Discovery, Steven Universe, Invader Zim, X-Files, Batman the animated series, etc.
Books: Do to working so much, I sadly don't read a lot of literature anymore.
Books that influenced me a lot in my youth / childhood: Pippi Långstrump, Mary Poppins, Persepolis, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Hello Cruel World.
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
I once played a video game so hard, it got me a job with their studio.
Now I work for and with one of Steam's most distributed games, and am in the middle of publishing our first Nintendo Switch title 'Hamsterdam'

I want to learn more about sustainable living, how to plan / organise / care for a Tiny House or Caravan.
I can teach how to build energy efficient desktop PCs with 2nd hand materials, and have a natural talent for management control systems (cause and effect in a marketing setting) and have done a bunch of consulting for studios and businesses before.
