About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have fun and enjoy life on this earth!

ABOUT ME

Gwen: Hi there! I'm a twentysomething year old student looking for a great time! I love travelling to unknown places, and discovering whatever these places have to offer:) I also like meeting interesting people, and learning about their views on life and what so ever.

Len: I'm originally from Amsterdam but living and studying in Leuven at the moment. I've lived in Paris for one year after secondary school and travelled a lot.

PHILOSOPHY

Live, laugh, enjoy, respect others and appreciate the things you have.

Now and then don't forget to look around and just let it all in. The sky is always a nice thing to gaze at..

Always look on the bright side of life, and whistle along. Now that song is stuck in my head.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are currently planning a trip around England and we have made our couch available for surfers though we haven't had any yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our couch surfing experience is pretty non-existent at the moment except for this profile which has been here for quite some time full of hope and expectations. Hopefully we'll be able to blow some life into

Interests

Gwen: Music, reading, sports, adventures, going out, travelling (duh;) and just having a great time. I do somethimes really appreciate some quiet time to myself as well.

Len: I love cooking, I guess it's a family trade because my grandmother used to love it and my mom loves is as well. I also really enjoy studying, except during exam-time, but I love learning, especially about how the human body and mind works.
I like reading, but I don't always have the time for it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Gwen: Love music.. Don't have a particular genre, depends on my mood.

Len: I listen to quite a variety of things and always start liking something new if I manage to listen to it long enough. Mostly I listen to indie, jazz, some classical music (especially when studying), bluegrass, rock, singer-songwriter, but mostly I just turn on the radio. And anything you can dance to.
I used to play the accordeon and sing jazz but I'm not terribly good at singing so it's mostly for the fun of it.
I read a lot when I have the time. Mostly fantasy novels (Robin Hobb is my favourite writer), and contemporary or classic literature, but only if I can discuss it with someone while I'm reading it.
I'm reading Mistress of the Empire at the moment. I recently read fifty shades of grey and found it absolutely terrible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gwen: God, this is hard! I have seen so much.. I think having lived in different countries with different cultures was pretty amazing and life changing/forming.

Oh and the sunset and sunrise while skiing is pretty awesome too.

Len: I once took out a boat to watch the sun rise at a desolated beach. The quiet and beauty was amazing. Sometimes I can just cycle around Amsterdam and the sun might suddenly break through and I feel this intense moment of joy for the city, the people, being outside in the beauty of the city. I don't need to go far to be amazed I guess, I can just be with people I love and be amazed they are sharing this life with me. And I'm more of an in the moment kind of person so I don't dwell too much on things that have passed in general.

Teach, Learn, Share

Gwen: My Spanish could use some extra practice.

Len: I love dancing but never really took any classes, I mostly learn by people practising with me if they feel up to teaching. I like any dance style but salsa and bachata are my favourites at this moment.
I can teach Dutch, 'how to study', some basic anatomy or microbiology or neuroanatomy anything else related to medicine that I've learned in the last 3 years.
I speak a little bit of French, basically enough to keep a conversation going.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Finland, Peru, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
