ABOUT ME

Hello!I have lived in Hong Kong since Sept 2010. I moved from New York City, but was born and raised in Ontario, Canada.Since Hong Kong is such a great hub, I've been doing a lot of traveling since I moved here and hope to continue to do much more in the future.Karate, acting, and community service (ESL teaching to refugees, suicide hotline volunteer) have all filled by my spare time over the last few years.I love to teach, write, and ask questions, and am fortunate to be able to do so for a living with my current career.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had really positive experiences since joining couch surfing. I'm happy to host fellow travelers and show them around Hong Kong (although my Cantonese is quite limited), or even just connect with fellow Hong Kongers for a coffee or a chat who are also on the CS network. I like to talk and usually have lots to say (although I can listen too.....)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been quite fortunate to encounter great hosts in my travels thus far. Lots of tips, new sights, tastes, and discussions were spurred on by my CS hosts -- a big thanks to them. I can only aspire to be such a great host to my guests.

兴趣

right now -- karate, tennis, yoga, acting, painting, swimming, reading, watching movies, learning Mandarin -- leisure time is always quite full and rewarding!!!!

If you need a gene cloned, I'm your guy......I have a ton of molecular biology, physiology, pharmacology, immunology, and biochemistry knowledge. I'm now actively participating in education research through my current job as a university lecturer.I'm trying to learn Mandarin. I used to think my French was bad, until I started taking Mandarin classes -- now my French seems pretty good (this is more of a comment on my bad Mandarin).I plan on taking the HSK level I Putonghua test sometime soon. I figure this will give me a goal and something to work towards, and most importantly, a deadline!!!!
