ABOUT ME

I'm a student of medieval history and, most of all, history is my greatest passion. One thing I understood of me is that when I'm studying I need to be involved in these fact, to feel the history, and to do that the best way for me is travelling and visit the places I study about.
I'm also a journalist so to be curious and openminded is part of my work otherwise I couldn't talk about the truth.
...But aside that, I also like good kitchen and wine, especially in this period, I like to try new tastes and dishes from all aver the World.
I like to meet people from abroad, discover new cultures, talk different languages. I like to have fun, I don't have limits in that but depends also on the people I'm with in that moment, if they're the right people and if I don't feel ill at ease.
I could have many other things to say about me but I prefer you know me in person ;)

PHILOSOPHY

To Observ, learn, understand and interact with the world without prejudices and dogmas, joing and enjoying the pleasures I like and accepting the differences I can't understand. Being like a silent and friendly pilgrim seeking for the truth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Till now, most of all I met other couchsurfers by travelling, but I've hosted and been hosted just once, cause I'm a member since 2006 but I didn't use CS for years. So now I want to make up all this time and do new CS travelling experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I slept sometimes at the couch of other members and I've hosted some guys from other countries and several times I met during my travels other couchsurfers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Nordic-folk music, like Faun or celtic authors and singers, and german music, like Rammstein (I love this languange). Also Gothic, darkwave, and Classica very much, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin. But I can listen every kind of music if I like, I don't have borders.
I like historical novels and movies, like Umberto Eco's "The Name of the Rose", the novels of Ellis Peters, Ildefonso Falcones, Ken Follet, Jan Guillou and Matilde Asensi.

In the Germanic-Nordic Tradition, my nickname "Gyfu", is a rune of the Futhark alphabet. In the ancient language it mean "Gods's gift" by the ancient ghotic "gyfan", "to give" from which derive the word "gift". This's the rune of the hospitality, sacrifice and mercy. It shows something given or riceived in change of an other gift. In the Nordic Mythology it's the symbol of shelter offered to the tired and needy travellers.
