Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I am able, I like to provide a space in my life to get to know new people. If that space is a couch, or a bed, or a hammock, so be it. I even try to have some clean clothes on hand of some sort.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not sought a couch while traveling myself, I have only hosted thus far. But in my own travels, I have encountered lots of people of different walks of life, so I appreciate the variety of experiences and personalities that I encounter from facilitating travelers on their way to or from somewhere exciting. :)
I have met beautiful people through trusting, and opening up, and sharing. I have been a traveler in a foreign land, and had a merciful stranger open their homes to me. I love the feeling of basic human comfort above the extravagance of unreal, automated, hotel resorts when I travel. And I happen to be able to supply the former at this stage of my life :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is my number one favorite book, and I am currently reading 'Lila' by the same author.
I have not been reading much recently as my books are packed away. But they are book marked. I love Edgar Allan Poe, Jack London, Oscar Wilde, Thomas Paine, His Holiness the Dali Lama, Stephen Hawking, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Carl Sagan, Jason Silva, Joe Rogan, David Cross
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I suppose I could say I have experienced true love. but that's not the sort of story one tells in writing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have read into many different aspects of self-sustained living. I am currently studying various modes of house construction, from hay bale houses, to earthship houses, to Geodesic dome structures to shipping container houses. it is a very broad and varied category, but I like sharing novel ideas I come across, and talking about this sort of thing from a design or layout perspective, as it is all sort of brain storming for me. I grew up on a farm, I helped my father and brother build a house and was involved in everything from the cutting of trees, and milling into boards, and on through plumbing and electricity, and I have varied amounts of skill in all of the various aspects of home construction. I am otherwise very poorly educated, though I have managed to several semesters at college.
