À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Working for "German Doctors" on the Philippines
ABOUT ME
Till now I haven't seen much of the world, but I'm currently trying to improve on that. I'm most likely to participate in any wacky idea, as long as that doesn't mean to have several feet of water above me or air below me (am a bit of afraid, when it comes to height). Apart from that, I'd describe myself as down-to-earth, green, adaptable and I obviously have a got a good sense of direction. And I'm always willing to lend a hand.
I really like getting to know new people, amazing landscapes, beautiful cities and to try all those things I haven't done yet. I also enjoy a good run occasionaly.
Some facts: I'm turning 30 this year (oha!), grew up in Neubrandenburg, Germany and have been working as a doctor since 2013. I have a little sister (well not that little indeed, as she's 22) who studies philosophy in Leipzig and agitates me with some new world-changing ideas from time to time. As she and a lot of my friends are vegetarian, it is somehow starting to rub off on me.
PHILOSOPHY
Most importantly: Treat others as you'd like to be treated. Maybe this would be the key to a better world.
Then: Smile at life and it will smile back. At least, I hope it is that way.
And: If you want to do something, just do it now. But - ha - that's easy to say, but sometimes difficult to do.
For everything: Keep it safe and simple.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I spread the idea by telling everyone interested I meet about it - as one step to make the world a big Surfer's Paradise in the end.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had a great time couchsurfing the US - it's just the right way to dive into the culture and get beyond tourism.
Centres d'intérêt
I spent my freetime mostly by hanging about with good friends, playing ukulele and singing, swimming, walking around aimlessly or strolling through the city. I also like canoeing and sailing, if there is enough time. And I like cooking and baking (maybe this is interesting for some future hosts ;)
Oh, and I just love (board) games: Just discovered that I'm quite good at Bananagrams and Catch Phrase.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
I just realized, that knowing the movies, music and books I consumed would make understanding who I am much easier, so I'll list some things that had an impact on my way of life:
Music: The Cat Empire - No longer there, The car song, Reasonably fine. Chumbawamba - Pass it along. Monty Python - The Galaxy Song.
Film: Big Fish, Yes Man.
Book: J.C.Voss - Für 1000 Dollar um die Welt. Hermann Hesse - Siddhartha.
Apart from that I enjoy
Music: The Cat Empire, Zen Elephant, Green Day, Dropkick Murphys (when in the mood), Alliance Ethnic, James Blunt, Kakkmaddafakka, Maison Neuve, Andrea Soler
Movies: Yes Man, The boat that rocked
Books: Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy, His Dark Materials, I must admit that I love the Harry Potter series, trying to get a copy of Moby Dick from the museum in New Bedford.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I had many amazing moments, but these stories need to be told face to face, because letters won't transfer the emotions.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I'm eager to learn anything, because you never know when it'll come in handy - you could e.g. end up hauling your boat up a canal to Luebeck instead of paddling.
What can I teach? Some basic chords on the ukulele. Some basic knowledge about first aid, sailing and boat building.
Thing to share: A meal, some drinks, an awesome moment and maybe some discussions about everything under the sun.
