2018/November

After traveling to Japan for the first time staying for 1 month in autumn of 2018, I find myself deeply desiring to travel in Japan again. I am very fortunate to have met many friends locally in Toronto in the language exchange communities that helped guide me, give me pointers and also travel together it was awesome!!!

I had an amazing trip thanks to all my Japanese friends and I would love to travel to cities I’ve not yet been and learn more about the culture, food and Life styles of the people living in this mysterious and beautiful island country. So many things fascinate and excite me such as the food of Osaka, the ancient old styles of Kyoto’s structures, the tranquility and preservations of gardens and temples. The vast amount of things to do in Tokyo is amazing, there’s so much more to explore!

My current goal is to plan a 5-6 week trip to Japan possibly in late 2020 or 2021. As for now I would like gain more experience hosting in the couch surfing community and meet more Japanese friends and language learners before I go for my next trip. I look forward to traveling to Okinawa and also to northern Japan regions like Hokkaido. Would be amazing if someone in Couch Surfing would host me :D

Hello! My name is Herbert, I’ve lived in Toronto most of my life. I know this city quite well and often travel to the areas just outside of Toronto like Niagara Falls. If you're interested in coming to Toronto and visiting the areas around it, I may be able to show you around depending on your time of stay. Currently, I live at one of the most Urban areas in Toronto and its only 20 minutes Subway travel away from the Downtown core.

Currently I'm very invested in the language exchange communities. I've been meeting many friends from the Meetup.com community as well for the past 3 years. I'm very social and always going out to do something fun!

I also run a casual band that welcomes new friends to come and play with us if you’re a musician. We are very open minded and just play for fun! Most of our members are Japanese or language learners! Feel free to check out a few of our photos I’ve uploaded!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find Japanese culture very fascinating and have been in and out of language exchange community for around 1 year. I'm trying to learn Japanese more seriously now as I am planning trips around Japan. I love travelling and I am trying the Couch Surfing community as i want to be minimalistic when I travel. Definitely could use some help like a guide and some tips or a driver to show me around :D
