About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Play practical jokes, ask 'what if' questions with no answers.

ABOUT ME

I know a lot of useless trivia about things that will be of use to exactly no one, ever.

I think the Natural History Museum in London is the most beautiful structure ever built.

Recently I've got really into NBA, which is kind of a pain when it means I have to stay up until 4am to see a game finish.

Last winter I started rock climbing and I love it. I'm not super good yet, but I love to go so maybe we could do that if you want.

I'm a pretty friendly guy and I enjoy practical jokes.

I own a near lifesize cardboard cutout of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and he is my dearest friend. I also own a plant named Buddy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had a pretty consistent stream of Couchsurfers tracking through our home in August and September 2010, as many as we could fit. Friday night is traditionally "tequila night".

I also surfed across America for 6 months in 2011, and everyone was great.

Back after somewhat of a hiatus, I'm back in my adopted hometown, London, and looking forward to hosting hell of cool dudes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing but good people and fun times.

Interests

I love looking at bright lights and shiny things. I am extremely adept at taking apart my laptop and voiding the warranty. Mostly I can put it back together, but not always.

Over the last couple of years I've been investigating beer. I have discovered that it frequently makes me do inadvisable things, but I am continuing my experiments.

I only just started drinking coffee so maybe someone can mould me into an expert at that too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Goodfellas, Tokyo Gore Police, Wes Anderson films, Waking Life and other Richard Linklaters, Arrested Development, Master of None, David Attenborough documentaries, classic horror films - Friday 13th, Halloween, Hellraiser, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Braindead. I'm pretty big on dystopias too, both in film and literature.

Hip-hop, classic rock, jazz + blues, also recently house, techno and disco. Particularly the works of Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground, Johnny Cash, Jurassic 5, The Dandy Warhols and Gang Starr. I will always be an indie kid at heart. Everything has its merits.

Classic literature; Wilde, Orwell, Steinbeck, Dumas, Dostoevsky, Kafka etc.
Marquez, Murakami.
Sci-fi; Asimov, Philip K. Dick
Last book I read was The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, which I found tremendously sad.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited Jodhpur in India, met some students in a bar who were at the 3rd best law school in the country, went back to their campus with them and partied until dawn at their freshers party. It was surreal and they even got us a ride back to the city the next day.
