I am 26 years old and was raised in Little Compton, RI. I attended college in Boston, and moved back to Newport where I received my Masters in Elementary Education. I then began teaching full-time, but also made a transition into the super yacht industry as a chef to help pay off my student loans. Last year I moved full time onto a 38' sailboat with my boyfriend and we are currently sailing around the world. We left Newport in November 2014, traveled the ICW, then spent a month in Turks and Caicos, a month in Puerto Rico, then island hopped from BVI to St. Barth's, ultimately landing in Antigua. Our goal is to sail to New Zealand by January 2016.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to join Couchsurfing because although we live on our sailboat, we are still working on yachts part time. I sometimes find myself in different countries with a low budget for accommodation, and I also like to hang out in local areas when I travel. These are hard to find when staying in hotels or resorts.
I have met a few people who host Couchsurfing around the US as well as friends who have stayed with hosts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I really like to relax and enjoy time off. I work hard even when I'm not officially employed, so when I take some time for myself, I like to rest, read, and do things I don't do on a regular basis, like learn a new sport or practice to become better at something.
