About Me
Hey friends! My name is Hagar, I'm 24 and am a Santa Cruz transplant currently living in North Hollywood, CA. I work two jobs in Venice, one as a cashier at Whole Foods and the other as an assistant at a booking agency for world music artists. I live with two other (super chill!) roommates in a cute 2-story apartment in the Arts District in NoHo, surrounded by cool restaurants, bars, and theaters. I spend most of my downtime scoping out the music scene in LA with my Santa Cruz buddies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and understand how stressful traveling can be when you're on a tight budget.
Interests
My main passion in life is music! I have a degree in Political Science and used to be deeply involved in it, particularly around the Israel-Palestine issue (of course in advocating for peace). I still very much care about and act on progressive issues, but didn't see a viable career out of it. Right now I work in concert booking and have never been so happy and spiritually fulfilled.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite bands/artists include HAIM, Grimes, Christine & the Queens, Alabama Shakes, Amy Winehouse, Phantogram, Warpaint, Queen Bey, etc. (do you see the pattern here?) #flowerpower
Not much of a movie person! But I'd say that my favorite one is definitely Chicago. I usually stick to comedies/documentaries when I do watch them.
I like reading non-fiction books. Favorite one is Nelson Mandela's A Long Walk to Freedom. Currently reading The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I met a couple former Israeli Prime Ministers when I was little! My family was part of a German TV news segment that followed us during the 1-year anniversary of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassination. We were granted entry to his office, where my twin sister and I (4-years-old at the time) were given big bear hugs by succeeding Prime Minister Shimon Peres (RIP) and his successor Prime Minister Ehud Barak. That endearing moment still sticks with me to this day.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some Hebrew!
Would love to learn another language or some new jams on the guitar.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you're fans of Whole Foods, I can take you on a shopping trip there to take advantage of my employee discount! I'd also be happy to cook up a nice dinner for the household or treat you to a case of beers of your liking :)
