About Me

ABOUT ME

I think sharing is quite possibly the most vital element of our existence. It's what has allowed humanity to progress, and to achieve both beautiful and horrible things. In an ideal world, I would like to share what I have accumulated over my very short existence, with everybody that wants to do the same. I want to be able to grow through the experiences of others, and I think that may describe me the best. I am inquisitive at heart, and transparent with thought. I try and keep an open mind in every situation, and always love a passionate debate.

Interests

I celebrate the little things in life. The bug crawling up a leaf. The way clouds move. The slight punctuation of an off-rhythm snare beat. A cold one with an old friend. A warm hug. A hand-written card. The things that really truly grab my attention: good music, soccer, a sharp zinfandel, and an optimistic, live-only-once outlook on life. I love a good film, popcorn, or a good book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Seeing Joe Satriani live: This man is connected to his guitar. It is an extension of his arm, his heart, his soul. He plays with so much feel, there is no way you can avoid being absolutely sucked into the aura his amplifier emits.
2. Standing at the top floor of the World Trade Center at age 6: I'll never forget how it felt to be up there. The taxi cabs were tiny yellow squares, and big, grown, human adults were scampering ants. Us, beings, are nothing but specks.
3. Siphiwe Tshabalala's goal in the 2010 World Cup: This was the moment I realized the power of unity through sport. For once, in the history of Africa, all of Africa celebrated together. Tshabalala's goal was not one for the Bafana, or Africa, but for humanity.
