About Me

Hello!

it's Hakan. I'm from Turkey. More precisely, I'm currently an Erasmus student in Brno, a city in the Czech Republic, which is a small compared to Istanbul :)) My English is decent, though I still need to improve my speaking skills. Apart from that, I'm currently learning Bulgarian, Farsi, and Greek.

I'm in my third month of Erasmus, and I've realized that I'm very open to differences. I've met people from various parts of the world, and I've come to appreciate how much I enjoy these differences. I can say that I'm fascinated by diversity. Even hearing different English pronunciations from people of different languages excites me. I could almost call myself a pronunciation connoisseur :))

Despite enjoying music, I don't play any musical instruments. However, I feel that I compensate for this by scribbling down my thoughts. Whether it's poetry, short stories, or other forms, I find peace in writing.

While trying to locate my grandmother's old village in Bulgaria, I've realized that what I've been doing is called hiking :))) I've done quite a bit of hiking during my Erasmus, and I've discovered how much I love it. Apart from that, I'm considering starting hitchhiking.

To be honest, I have a somewhat melancholic character. Sometimes, I prefer silence. However, I get along best with people who tolerate my silence. Apart from that, I don't enjoy complaining or lamenting. I believe that no matter how bad things get, I can always find a way, so I'm usually good at accompanying people.

Despite everything, I love traveling very, very much :)))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be honest, I am an erasmus student and I think this explains a lot :)) Despite having embarked on many solo journeys, I've realized that there's nothing quite like having someone with you who shares the same experiences while traveling. That's why I'm here. I want to meet new people, be a guest in their homes, and explore together.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't know if it's a cult statement, but I listen to what I find cool. This includes rock, jazz, hip-hop, pop... I also enjoy listening to classical music. I can say that when it comes to music, I prefer staying on the surface and not delving too deep :))

I have 20 movies left on the IMDb Top 250 List. In addition to that, I watch many other lesser-known movies from great directors. I love Woody Allen's style, and Wes Anderson is also one of my favorites. I enjoy watching both fancy movies; however, The Godfather Trilogy is still one of my favorites :))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess it's something that most users won't find amazing, but it's still amazing for me. In October, I climbed up the Tatra Mountains alone. It was my first experience, so I still consider this as amazing :)))

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach very very very interesting subjects in philosophy, which I guarantee everyone will find interesting and thought-provoking at the same time.

I can learn languages, and that would be perfect.

I can share my stupid memories. I call them stupid because they really are :))

What I Can Share with Hosts

my stories and Turkish cuisine. I bet you want to learn how to make omlet with potatoes :))
