Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

willing to host weary travelers at my home about 30 minutes from Washington DC. update,- have hosted several surfers, lots of good experiences. Now ready to do some surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

so much but it was all before CS site existed. Before the internet...1986-I spent 6 weeks driving up to Alaska camping out along the way. Got to Valdez and took a summer job living in a tent the whole time..91-94, Peace Corps Lesotho-Hitched and camped throughout Southern Africa. Often invited home by the locals. Slept out under the stars in southern Utah too many times to count. and the Green Tourtous Bus NYC to SF Sept 1981 was great, my first trip out west. Then 2 tours through Mex and Guat- 84 & 86 by bus and train
(yes there was an overnight train Nogales to Guatalajara back then). Remember this was all before email, so I was completely out of contact. And summer 88, I lived in an old van I bought that hardly ran, so I basicly parked it at friends backyards. LOL-Bringing back lots of good mememories.

Interests

going to lots of local DC (free) events.
