Hi!

My name is Kahikina and I am a transgender woman (please don't hesitate to ask me about this :) from Honolulu Hawaii. I just joined couch surfing and I am excited to meet people as I travel the world.

My former career was in Education where I worked in the various administrative capacities in the university. I left that to start my own business teaching Hawaiian dance, primarily in Japan.

Here's a quick bullet list of the things I love:
- Travel (didn't have to be said, but in case you needed a confirmation lol)
- Music: I have a pretty eclectic taste in music but really enjoy, traditional Hawaiian music, Pop, Jazz standards, Country, Classical, Chill House (I'm not entirely sure that's a genre but I see a lot of playlists on Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon music titled Chill House).
- Volleyball (beach and indoor). If there's any - one - sport that I'm actually decent at, volleyball is it.
- Meaningful conversation: I know that may sound a little silly, but I love talking with people one-on-one and getting to know them.
- Wine and whiskey: I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination but I do enjoy both types of drinks
- Food! haha (maybe a little too much)

I'm not currently hosting but one day when I find a more permanent residence, I will open my home to the lovely traveler!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Nothing is better than befriending a local of the area you visit and having him/her show you or give you advice on things of the area. CS is such a fantastic, budget-friendly way to see the world AND meet new and amazing people. So... I guess that's why I'm not CS, to see the world and meet new and amazing people :)
