My name is Haley. I grew up in Michigan in the U.S.A. I'm a recent college graduate who is trying to figure out what is next! All that I really know is that I want to see the world, while also helping to defeat the negative American stereotype!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I've traveled, seeing the tourist sites are fun. What is even more fun and memorable are the people you meet during your travels and seeing the city from a local's perspective. I'm couch surfing so I can get the best of both worlds. Also, did I mention I'm a recent college graduate aka student loans?!

Interests

My interests revolve around the world. I'm very interested in International Politics, specifically the Middle East/North Africa. I like learning and reading about other cultures. At home, I enjoy seeing concerts and drinking delicious Michigan craft beer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: mostly rock of any sub-genre (alternative, classic, indie, pop-rock) and then whatever makes my ears happy.

Movies (top 5): the Sound of Music, Pineapple Express, Across the Universe, 101 Dalmatians, Titanic, and oh yeah, EVERY HARRY POTTER MOVIE.

Books: Harry Potter (duh), and basically anything that is not a biography (but even those sometimes...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things that I have done is to sleep in Wadi Rum (a desert) with my classmates and local Bedouins. It was very near to the spot in which Lawrence of Arabia left his mark.
