About Me
Hi! My name is Haley R. Hamill. The R isn't really important, I just like to distinguish myself from the other Haley Hamill's. I'm a sophomore at Duke University (i'll obviously, now, have to keep this updated). I'm still figuring out what I want to major in although it looks like it's coming down to English and Environmental Science/Biology. I'm grappling with that right now. My favorite color is maroon, but black's a close second. I'd say I'm quiet and reserved around people for the most part. I'm a listener, but if it's one on one time or in a close group of friends, I talk a good portion of the time. Oh, yeah! I'm a cat person. That should explain everything else you need to know. If it doesn't, you can always ask.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have never really traveled. I could never afford to due to issues at home, but now that I'm in college, I'm realizing there's a lot I haven't seen and done that others reference in daily conversations. New York, Paris, Empire State Building, Eiffel Tower... I've barely seen any of it beyond my computer screen. I'm, in a way, trying to change that. Of course, there's more to do and see other than go to NY or see the Eiffel Tower. Also, I small-scale model and act (I'm thinking about making it a full-time thing, but still testing the professional waters right now), which requires me to travel quite a bit -- to different casting calls, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm not quite sure what my favorite movie is... I like silent movies. I like Sherlock Holmes, The Dark Knight, Star Wars. A lot of stereotypical movies. Anything with a good plot line, action, philosophy, something to make me think. My mind loathes stagnation. V for Vendetta too.
I like all sorts of music, but I'm a fool for a good violin. Bastille is currently on repeat for me.
As for books, I've been through almost everything. I'd say the things that have lasted are anything well-written about martyrs, and anyone doing/saying things that are bigger than themselves (whether that be a struggle or whether it be a passion of theirs).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Publish scientific research? Fly in my friend's private airplane? Haha Not too much compared to some others. I saved my friend from an imminent goat attack once.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ballet, Spanish, Food? Haha I can do really anything of these things with almost everything. If there's something I have that you want to learn or that you need, just let me know. I can usually work something out.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lodging, and a bit of my time. I wish I had more, but...college.
