About Me
Last year I began a job in which I am able to work remotely. This has allowed me to feed my wanderlust and travel full time. I'm currently travelling around the US in my car, but plan to spend time volunteering abroad within a year. I'm adventurous, down to earth, respectful, and can get along with just about anyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of the best things about travelling is the interesting people you meet. As a solo traveller especially, it's nice to meet other travellers on the road and to hang out with locals. I'm independent and kind of shy, so couch surfing is a fun way to get out and be social. I've couch surfed in Europe and have wonderful memories of those experiences (Sidebar: this was in 2008 and I since made a new Couchsurfing account, which is why I have no friends/references yet - I'm working on fixing that!)
Interests
Travel, of course. Also, I love the outdoors: hiking, camping, biking, visiting State/National Parks, being near water, etc... I like to try new things and have done a little bit of a lot of things such as kayaking, rafting, parasailing, snorkel/snuba, horseback riding, ziplining, rappelling, and so on. I don't mind doing touristy things as well, and enjoy sight-seeing when I'm in new places. My other passion is helping Native American youth, and have done a lot of professional and volunteer work in Education and with kids.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently hiked to the Havasupai Reservation. At the bottom of the Grand Canyon, it is the most remote village in the continental US. There are no roads in or out, so to get there I hiked 10 miles each way. The beauty is absolutely indescribable - brilliant turquoise waterfalls and miles of river, in the middle of the desert! While I was there, I befriended one of the Natives and had the honor of being invited to, and participating in, a sweat lodge with local elders.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Friendly company, interesting conversation, help around the house. I'm self sufficient, so my hosts shouldn't feel like they need to provide me with constant entertainment. But it's also great if they would like to show me around. I'm happy and comfortable both doing things together and/or going off and doing my own thing.
