ABOUT ME

We're passionate about our life together. In 2015, we returned to Haley's hometown to work and raise our children in a close-knit rural community.
We believe that life is a journey, and we're always happy to share the road with people from different places. We love to sing, and dance, break bread together and share stories.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

H: All my life, I've lived with an 'open door' policy. I come from a family that has always had extra people sleeping in the basement, on the couch, or any spare space that exists. As we develop our family together, our desire is to continue welcoming people with a radical kind of hospitality.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

H: I 'officially' surfed for the first time in February 2008 - enjoying lovely company in Amsterdam. However, I feel as if I've been couchsurfing for a great deal of my life, staying with family and friends and friends of friends wherever life takes me!

Together, we've surfed in Paris (on our honeymoon adventure) and hosted numerous guests from around the world on our couch in Cape Breton.

Interessen

Storytelling, baking, cooking, reading, singing,playing with lego, running in the yard, dancing, playing the piano, walking in the woods, sharing a cup of tea with anyone who walks through our door!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

H:My first year in Cape Breton, I helped host a 50th birthday party for a lady who lives the entire year in anticipation of this celebration.
We cooked her breakfast in bed, made hamburgers and french fries (her favourite)for supper and welcomed our entire community into our home for an open house. We had a fiddler, and some great dancing, and at the end of the evening we packed up everyone in our house (10 of us in total) and went to a square dance. The celebration of life!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

We're always excited to learn.
Haley is a musician by trade and Amil is a Red Seal chef- always happy to share these talents and learn from others.
Our boys interests include Lego, cybersecurity, basketball and so much more.

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

We love to share good food, stories with our guests. These days , we're a fairly active household with 3 growing boys filled with lots of energy!
