About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience all that I can.

ABOUT ME
Open-minded, outgoing introvert, spontaneous traveler

I was raised in a rural Oklahoma town, where few escape the cycle of smalltown life. I escaped the cycle. I have a passion for long-term travel, non-conventional living, and the outdoors. My most recent adventure has been thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, 2,190 miles from Georgia to Maine.

I am unconventional and non-normative, I appreciate anything outside of the box. I am independent and outgoing. My friends describe me as an outgoing introvert.

In my travels, I prefer discovering the places I visit through the locals. Tourist spots are generally overrated. In a CS experience, I just want to meet good people and share stories.

PHILOSOPHY

Our endless days are numbered. We have so many opportunities to make memories, enjoy life, explore, learn, and just love, but if we do not seize moments, how can we accomplish this? I believe everyone should take a stand, make an effort to be bold, try new things, for the sake of making the most out of life, while we can live it to the fullest!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE!

Couchsurfing experiences are a major highlight of some of my favorite travel adventures! The Couchsurfers I've met over the years have left me with some of my most cherished memories and some have become close friends!

In 2016/2017, I connected with more Couchsurfers during my time traveling through work with Royal Caribbean!

In 2015, I left for a spontaneous solo roadtrip that took me to grand places like Memphis, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Dauphin Island, and New Orleans! I met so many lovely couchsurfers and made so many irreplaceable memories! In October 2015, I also visited ABQ for the Balloon Fiesta and was lucky enough to make countless CS connections there!

In Summer 2014, I took a solo roadtrip through Central and Northern US states, Couchsurfing and camping along my way. The highlight of my trip was northern Minnesota and Duluth, MN where I was hosted by a fun couple who introduced me to Geocaching and left me with many other fun memories!

In summer 2013, I took an epic solo roadtrip through the Northwestern region of the US, meeting countless lovely Courchsurfers along my way through Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and Utah! From Rachel's park cabin in Grand Teton to Mary Ellen's cabin in northern Idaho to Gurdeep's apartment in Seattle, it was a trip I'll never forget with so many connections I'm thankful to have made!

In Summer 2011, I backpacked solo through Ireland, staying with many WONDERFUL couchsurfing hosts along my journey. This is where my Couchsurfing adventures started and I'm so thankful for the memories I made there! I stay connected with several of them to this day!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything with a good vibe.

I love reading, but my tastes change a lot. I’m trying to check some classics off my list and I can’t help but love travel and adventure memoirs.

My music preferences range from techno to folk music. I love small venue concerts and festivals. In summer 2017, I traveled to Norway and as part of my visit, I arranged to volunteer for a concert festival in Bergen, where I saw performances by Rag N Bones Man, Ellie Goulding, Tove Lo, Pet Shop Boys, Emeli Sande, Zara Larsson, and more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The month I spent traveling solo, hitchhiking and couchsurfing through all of beautiful Ireland.

I have backpacked throughout the Grand Canyon for a one week period of time on three occassions.

I swam with and held Stingrays in the middle of the ocean in Grand Cayman.

Meeting a woman in her older age in my Irish hostel room, who was traveling solo through Europe, because she gave up those dreams when she started a family many years ago...I left her a note about how inspired I was about her pursuing her lifelong dreams and we continue to send each other Christmas cards every year with detailed updates on our travel endeavors.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook. I can do general maintenance on most cars, bikes, and quad skates. I can tell you more than you want to know about Oklahoma outdoor recreation. I'm a general Jill of all trades.

I would love to experience outdoor climbing with someone!
