About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To go anywhere and everywhere

UPDATE 2025:)
My name is Seth (I’m going to write in English because it seems more versatile these days), I was born in the city of Tucson, Arizona in the United States, but now I consider my home with my indigenous tribe in the northeast part of the state, called Hopi.
I studied and graduated from the University of Arizona in 2009, grabbed a backpack, and have been traveling ever since.
I first started backpacking in Hawaii, but now have been moving around through 33 different countries, on 4 continents, all to make my life a bit more of an exciting story:) I make my living as an artist, making my own handmade jewelry, working in arts fairs, or selling on the move anywhere I can. Art is my own way of meeting cool people, and it has helped a lot make my way through most of South America.
Now I’m traveling through Europe, and getting around is a bit different. I haven’t used couch surfing in many years, because I have my own camper vehicle in North America, but now in Europe I’m back on foot with public transport, and hitchhiking when I can:)
I love meeting new people, having adventures, making people laugh, eating good food, making art, learning and doing everything I can in this one life that I have:)
I love nature, hiking camping, and swimming in the waters, and have noticed that my life is a pursuit of beautiful things:)

If anyone is interested to check out the art I make, I have an Instagram @halfimpressive

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used this platform a lot when I was younger, (which is why my references are from several years ago), and am now trying to get back into it, I’ve noticed that spontaneous encounters of new friends is a bit different now in 2025.
I still love meeting cool people, and I respect and admire people who open their doors to receive travelers wanting to know the world. I have no fixed address, and move around often. I like the idea of a global network that can connect people to new friends all over the globe, and with it, much knowledge of other places and cultures. I find it one of the most pleasurable and addicting features of traveling.

It’s always the people that make the place:)

I consider it an honor and privilege to maintain our ties with each other, in a world where distance grows between us due to much distrust. I want to do my best using digital tools to keep the culture of friend-making worthwhile :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, I'll read, listen, and watch pretty much anything, always better if it's good :)

As for books, I'm a huge fan of Ralph Waldo Emerson, John Muir, John Steinbeck, and Vine Deloria Jr. Jules Verne is also a genius. I'm partial to classic American literature, poetry, and essays. I'm a huge fan of science fiction and fantasy, and always like a good adventure :)

Music is hard, but I’ll listen to anything at least once. Reggae, Blues, MPB, Rock, Ska, Jazz, Funk, Rap, classical, Grunge, Hip-Hop, Rockabilly, House, Cumbia, Trip-Hop, and Reggaeton would be a start :)

Favorite movies are kind of hard to pick, but I think I could enjoy anything as long as I had good company to watch it with. However, I’ll never get tired of Stranger Than Fiction, Walter Mitty, and anything by Wes Anderson or Guy Ritchie. The new Dune movies are amazing too:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well,

I’ve traveled by land more than 150,000 km, mostly hitchhiking(auto stop) for more than 100,000.

Longest trip was hitchhiking from the United States to the end of Chile and back, that took more than 10 years.

Summited Huayna Potosi in Bolivia at 6088 meters. Hitch-hiked boats through the Caribbean. Hiked 6 weeks through 400 kilometers in Patagonia. Seen the end of South America at Cabo Froward.

There a few things, I dont think I could choose just one. That will just have to be one of the stories that Ill share when I meet you :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like chatting, conversing about cultural differences to learn more about others, making jokes, cooking, having adventures, and trading stories:). I’m usually up for just about anything, I’m sure we’ll part ways as good friends:)
