ABOUT ME

I'm a Vancouver-born Canadian looking for enjoyable company and stimulating conversation. I enjoy hosting events, and meeting new people. If you were to ask a friend, they would likely describe me as outgoing, very tall with a deep voice, and a fan of cooking and dancing.
Travel is a great personal passion, I believe in putting oneself in situations outside of their comfort zone and being spontaneous. I enjoy rugby, swimming, hiking, and surfing (albeit poorly).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Cooking brings me great joy. I´ve travelled across Canada, South America, Mexico, and Europe, and love telling stories. I´m a conscientious traveller who has hosted many couchsurfers before, and knows what to expect.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've lived in a large house that has hosted a half-dozen couchsurfers over the last year. Each surfer has been great, collectively we have plenty of space and all enjoy hosting.

Futher, I had fantastic hosts while in southen Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, and Peru.

For me, a great evening is in a pub or out in the wild debating anything, talking music, and laughing. Professionally I am very interested in how individuals interact with other individuals, industry, their environment, and the state, and am currently a student of Public Policy (relating to clean energy and climate change). Further, I love immersing myself in languages and cultures. I find peace hiking and swimming, and find excitement in big cities and with big ideas. Specifically, I am interested in the politics of climate change and energy policy.

Outside of politics, I love to read. I love to drink beer, laugh, and talk about books, music, concerts, and swap ridiculous stories from travel, work, and everyday life.

Some of my faveroite experiences have been surfing in Ireland, exploring the west coast of Canada, and studying at a small university on Canada´s east coast.
The memory of standing at the top of Cypress Mountain, on a clear evening, armed only with skis and a sense of adventure, always brings me peace. Cypress is one of Vancouver's olympic mountains and overlooks the whole city. On a clear afternoon, one can see for miles in every direction. Mountains on one side, beautiful city on the other.
Further, my time exploring the Andean mountains, South American cities such as La Paz and Quito, and trekking in the Amazon have greatly impacted me.
