Hi, I'm Halyma from New Zealand, great to meet you!

16 months ago I quit my job, sold all my belongings and purchased a one way ticket to pursue my love for travel, full time! I have spent most of my time abroad volunteering, hitchhiking and couch surfing across Europe and Africa.

I have met so many inspiring souls and experienced such kindness and generosity from complete strangers and so I hope to 'pay it forward' and help out fellow travellers once I return to NZ

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

My preferred way to travel is to immerse myself into the culture and understand the place from a local perspective. I feel like couchsurfing would be a great way to be able to meet like minded people, learn of other ways of living and to share my stories and experiences as well :)

I love classical music (i played in a school orchestra and band). I like to read psychological thrillers and binge watch ru pauls drag race on netflix

One of the most rewarding things I have done so far is teach in Arusha, Tanzania. I absolutely fell in love with local kids and the community!
