Books: I love dictionaries. While other girls were getting dresses and mobile phones for their birthdays my parents were buying me Longman Contemporary English and massive volumes of English-Ukrainian dictionary. With google translate and multitran people have forgotten both the pain and romanticism of thumbing through the 1000 pages book - a process which sometimes took you more than a minute to look up a word.

I grew up reading adult stories of Stephen King, and now I'm fond of children's non-fiction books of Terry Deary.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* lived in a fire station for 2 weeks
* lost a backpack with all the valuables in a tram and then found it (ich liebe Deutschland! :-)
* drove 1500 km with 45 Dutch football fans while working as their Ukrainian walkie-talkie
* spent 3 weeks with a group of kids in the UK (believe me, that was no mean feat)
* survived road crossing in Asia and 4000 km of bike trip around Vietnam
