I am an Australian from the Blue Mountains near Sydney and am travelling around the states on Amtrak. I haven't used Couchsurfing before but have stayed in places all over the world with friends and family of friends. I have also hosted a number of people I have never met before, and some of them have become such good friends that I have travelled to the other side of the world to visit them. I am a mathematics teacher by trade but my interests range far and wide.

Because I enjoy travelling more if I meet people from the area I am visiting. More local knowledge can only be a good thing. And when I am home I love making new friends when people come to stay.

My favourite recent memory has to be a two week cycle ride through the south of France with my siblings. Cheese and wine and sun. And a sore bum.

I am a friendly bloke from the other side of he world. I love a chat about pretty much anything and get on with anyone. I have a few good recipes up my sleeve and like to cook for others if there is time. I have travelled a bit and like to give others tips and receive them myself.
