About Me
Current Mission:
To befriend fellow travellers, listen and share stories, and meet great people.
Last summer, I worked in coordination with the refugee youth project as a program leader (volunteer coordinator) for Rustic Pathways, where I managed 36 volunteers total to help teach a school managed my RYP.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I heard about couch surfing for the first time from a friend who told me about her awesome experiences as she was backpacking around Europe and Asia independently. I was not entirely sure about the idea at first, but then quickly learned that this was an amazing opportunity to meet cool people from around the world. CS is not just about sleeping at someone's place for free, but about establishing a global currency of kindness. I have made many genuine friends from couch-surfing; I really appreciate those who offer me their precious houses and hospitality while I'm on the road, and I really like to give something back.

Music, Movies, and Books
BOOKS
Americanah by author Chimamanda Ngozi, Guapa by Saleem Haddad, Homegoing by Yaa Gyaasi, Orientalism by Edward Said, The Association of Small Bombs by Karan Mahajan. Spinoza, Nietzsche, and Foucault are pretty interesting reads, though I would not say I have finished any of their books. Assuming the Position by Rick Whitaker, When My Brother Was an Aztec by Natalie Diaz, Salt by Nayyirah Waheed, etc
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was once stranded in Amsterdam after attempting to fly back home from Boston to Abu Dhabi due to an ear infection. The Netherlands granted me a one week visa and I had the best time of my life! Stayed with people I met online and learned a lot about the culture and myself.
One time I fell off a ship? (Okay, I'm half joking. I fell off a ferry boat)
