Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
keep my beloved grandma (88) happy and healthy.
ABOUT ME
I consider myself as an uncomplicated and dependable person full of enthusiasm for unconventional ideas and would attest myself a good sense of humour (from foolish children's humour to very dry british one) and "german directness". Furthermore I am very reliable and organized (as I live without a smart phone... still love the good old-fashioned e-mail and SMS:-)
On the one hand I try to live socially and environmentally aware, enjoy good friendships and stimulating conversations with smart and witty "out-of-the-box-thinkers"... but on the other hand I am an outgoing, modest and laid back lady, keep things as simple as possible, love to travel and and enjoy life to the fullest...
PHILOSOPHY
"A man's character is his fate." (Heraclitus)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As I need to go to conferences every now and then this is always a nice opportunity to stay with somebody nice and discover cities and places you probably would not visit as holiday destination in first place... and I also like to help people, especially the ones who are in Hamburg for different seminars and conferences as well.
In the last years I have been to several (sometimes very good) hotels, but I came to the conviction, that the CS-nights I had in my student life were much more interesting... so I reactivated my profile and hope to continue with further good experiences...
Interests
I really do care for children and elderly people and develop ideas and services how to focus on children and elderly people needs in future... (my job is my big passion and accompanies me in my everyday life)
Furthermore I am interested in art and photo exhibitions, city trips, Poetry Slams, theater and dancing (latin american dances and parties are always good fun -- try the "Galeria" in Hamburg Reeperbahn for example.)

Music, Movies, and Books
Although my knowledge about movies and music is pretty modest (next to zero:-), there have been some very touching ones I really liked... Especially movies with Denzel Washington, Robin Williams, Morgan Freeman...
My favourite authors are Haruki Murakami, Martin Suter and Vladimir Nabokov (I like brackets like him;-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After I finished university I invited my grandma to a nice holiday. As we had trouble with her documents at our original destination, we were forced to change our plans WITHIN SECONDS at the airport and ended up at the party destination number 1: "BALLERMANN 6" in Mallorca. - She was almost 80 these days!
Teach, Learn, Share
If you insist I can tell you more about my work with refugee children and how child and teeanger care support works in Germany...
Otherwise I can show you some hidden corners in Hamburg you probably won't find in a normal Hamburg travel guide.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Experiences, a glas of wine (or beer or champagne... :-) same and different points of view and all I have in the fridge is also yours while your stay (although I tell you directly I am neither vegeatrian nor vegan and do have no lactose free and other special products in myhousehold...)
