Overview
About Me
I'm an Australian who moved to Oxford, UK to do my PhD in biology and genetics. I now live and work in London as a research scientist.
I love travelling - exploring new cities, places and landscapes, trying new and unusual food and drink, learning languages and culture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm taking a 3-4 month break to travel solo overland from London to Central Asia. I'm hoping to connect with people along the way and thought that Couchsurfing would be a great way to do this.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading travel narrative books such as by Paul Theroux and Colin Thubron, but also fiction, ranging from Graham Greene, John Wyndham, Haruki Murakami and John Fowles.
Some of my favourite films include Pan's labyrinth, Guardians of the Galaxy, Arrival. Like all sorts of TV - 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, South park, breaking bad, game of thrones, Hannibal, Archer.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to share stories about the places I've been or lived, and learn more about their cities and countries. Or just more generally, hanging out and chatting about movies, science, politics, food, drink.
