About Me

Hey! My name is Hamish, i am a 27 yo traveller from Queensland Australia. I am a carpenter and wildlife scientist.
I never get tired of exploring and learning about new people, places and cultures. I have travelled to a range of countries around the world and learn something new everywhere i go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The more you travel, the more you learn, and the best way to learn is to immerse yourself in the places and cultures you go. I don't ever want to be a tourist who stays in a hotel, takes some photos and then leaves. I want to meet people, make friends and have genuine experiences with amazing people. Couch surfing is perfect for me.

Interests

In Australia i work in landscaping and design, i love gardening and building. I also work with animals in rescue, rehabilitation and education. At university i am studying wildlife science as well some Spanish. I plan to continue studying language when i gradute this year and then continue traveling and learning about culture, language and the environments in the places i explore.

When i am not traveling i love to surf, garden, explore, read and listen to music. I am always excited to try new things and share experiences with people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - philosophy, science, adventure and new ideas

Music - anything new or whatever makes me feel good. I listen to a lot of different artists and genres and will checkout anything new that people suggest

Movies and tv - i love documentaries and quirky movies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I will never forget my time in the Galapagos Islands, seeing the incredible animals such as sea lions, land and marine iguanas, the giant tortoises and entire islands made from new lava flows

Teach, Learn, Share

Education and learning is very important to me. Whether it is science, culture, philosophy, language, i am always happy to learn and teach where ever i can. If anyone wants to teach me new languages i can help others with English!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am friendly and respectful, will always be happy to try new things, i am not picky at all and i will help in anyway i can.

If you travel to Australia, i have lots of fun activities to try and great friends for you to meet. We can visit the rainforest, go to the beach and other fun places, meet some native Australian animals or improve your English. Whatever you want to do, we can try to make it happen :)
